Pitt jumped out to an early lead before needing a trick play at the end of the game to pull off the upset win over 15th ranked UCF. On a 4th down and three with under a minute left to play in the game they ran the “Pitt Special.”
The play features a pass to the quarterback, who made the diving catch in the end zone to tie the game. The extra point gave the Panthers the 35-34 lead and the win.
