Russian powerlifter Yaroslav Radoshkevich sustained a horrific injury which left his right leg severely fractured to end his day at the powerlifting Eurasian Championship in Khabarovsk, Russia.

He reportedly came into the event with a sprained ankle, which may have contributed to the horrific injury.

Radoshkevich said that the horrible fracture has put an end to his sporting career.

Further medical observation revealed that the man sustained a double closed fracture of his shinbone and complete fracture of his ankle. The unfortunate powerlifter, who was immediately taken to hospital, will need up to six months to fully recuperate after the terrifying injury.

“I can hardly return to this sport following such an injury. I had achieved a lot but I will have quit my hopes and ambitions as rehabilitation will approximately take six months,” he said.

That’s pretty gnarly.
