US President Trump will huddle up with the top executives in professional sports to talk about the coronavirus.

A call with “major league commissioners” was set for noon ET on Saturday, according to the president’s public schedule, reported Mark Knoller of CBS News.

The meeting comes with the sports world in an uncertain position, along with most other sectors of US social and economic life.

The NBA and NHL seasons have been suspended since March 12.

MLB’s Opening Day has been pushed back indefinitely, while the NFL is attempting to forge ahead with its usual offseason calendar under unprecedented circumstances.

Naturally the pause in action has fueled rampant speculation about when the leagues could return, and what the schedules might look like to account for the interruption.
