Of all his new NFC West foes, Los Angeles Rams star pass-rusher Myles Garrett is most looking forward to playing the Seattle Seahawks.
“I want the champs,” Garrett said Thursday, according to Fox Sports’ Eric Williams. “They won it all, and I’ve got to see what that’s about. They feel like they’ve got the pieces to run it back, and I feel like we’ve got the pieces to take over.”
Garrett, whom the Rams acquired from the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster trade this offseason, will get his first crack at the reigning Super Bowl champions on Christmas Day. They’ll also face Seattle in their regular-season finale.
The rivals competed three times last season, resulting in some of the most memorable contests of the 2025 campaign. The Seahawks topped the Rams in an overtime thriller in mid-December and did so again in the NFC Championship Game. Seattle then went on to take down the New England Patriots and secure the Lombardi Trophy.
The Seahawks’ offense moved the ball at will against the Rams in their January battle for the NFC crown, finishing with 396 total yards while converting 7-of-13 third-down attempts. Sam Darnold, in particular, torched them for 346 passing yards and three touchdowns in arguably his best game of the year.
Los Angeles added multiple pieces to its defense this offseason, including Garrett, who’s been one of the most feared defensive players of this era. In 2025, he broke the NFL’s single-season sack record with 23, and his 125.5 sacks since 2017 are 10.5 more than second-ranked T.J. Watt during that span.
The Rams also acquired cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson from the Kansas City Chiefs to boost their secondary.
Seattle will begin its title defense against the Patriots in the league’s season opener, while the Rams will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
