Raptors Remain Favorites to Land Kawhi Leonard

In expected news, Kawhi Leonard will decline his $21.3 million player option for the 2019-20 season.  In maybe a little unexpected news, the Raptors remain the favorites to land the star player.

Via Yahoo Sports:

The Raptors are the only team that can offer Leonard a max contract for five years and $190 million.

Leonard, 27, is believed to be seriously considering re-signing with the Raptors, sources said.

I’ve said it before, if I’m Kawhi, I’m signing with the Raptors on a one-year deal with a player option for a second year. 

If next season goes well, I pickup the option.  If it doesn’t, then I hit free agency.
