Redskins head coach Jay Gruden announced over the weekend that Derrius Guice will be the Redskins starting running back this season.  That means 34-year-old Adrian Peterson, who signed with the team after a string of injuries and rushed for over 1,000 yards last season, will be the backup.

According to a source close to the team, if Gruden had his way Peterson would be looking for a new job right now.  Not because AP couldn’t be a valuable member of the team, but because he’s going to be in the head coach’s ear about playing time.

Gruden was overruled and Peterson will remain with the team.  For now.
