The Detroit Lions made a relatively impactful move this week, releasing C.J. Anderson and promoting Ty Johnson to be the primary backup to Kerryon Johnson.

CJ Anderson found out about being released over a phone call.

He was in the middle of speaking to children.

He was sharing his remarkable personal story, which involved growing up in Vallejo, California, and never knowing his father; having a live-in uncle who sold drugs, etc.

He spent a good portion of his one day off per week to be here for the seminar, with his younger brother and girlfriend and 5-month-old baby daughter in tow.

And just like that he was a free agent.

Find out why you can’t call CJ greedy.
