NASCAR driver Ryan Newman confirmed reports that he suffered a head injury in the violent crash he was involved in during the final lap of the Daytona 500.

Steve Newmark, the president of Roush Fenway Racing, provided an update on Newman’s status during a press conference on Sunday.

Newmark confirmed that Newman is currently receiving treatment for the head injury and plans to return to racing as soon as he’s able.
