The Seahawks are trying to add a little insurance in their backfield and have offered free agent running back Devonta Freeman a contract. Seattle doesn’t believe Rashaad Penny will be ready for Week 1.
Freeman hasn’t signed the deal because he’s looking for a bigger contract. That isn’t likely to come from the Seahawks who are said to be set on their current offer.
