Running back Todd Gurley is “gonna be a big part of this game,” McVay said at his Tuesday morning press conference, according to Albert Breer of The MMQB.

Gurley recorded just 10 yards on four carries in the NFC Championship Game against the New Orleans Saints, though he did score a touchdown.

The regular-season leader in rushing touchdowns finished with 115 yards and a score on 16 attempts against the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round.

The two-time All-Pro insisted that after sitting out the final two regular-season games due to a knee issue, the injury isn’t affecting him.

McVay is taking the blame for Gurley’s poor outing in the conference championship, saying he needs to do a better job of getting him the ball, according to NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano.

The Rams will not win this game unless Gurley has a big one.

He’s the lifeblood of the Rams.
