Game 5 of the 76ers and Raptors series was all Toronto.  They crushed Philly 125-89.  The talk of the series has been Joel Embiid’s illness.

The Sixers big man has been sick for almost every game in the series and virtually invisible.  On Tuesday night, Embiid went into halftime with just 5 points and finished with 13 in the blowout loss.

There’s at least one guy who doesn’t have any sympathy for Embiid.  Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t care at all about the Sixers big man’s illness.

Shaq trashed him after Game 4 and again at halftime on Tuesday night:

“I don’t want to hear no excuses.  If you want to get to the championship, if you want people to remember The Process forever, you gotta step up.  Five points is unacceptable.  During the regular season he’s averaging 28.  He’s now averaging 18.  He’s not stepping up to the challenge.”

Maybe Embiid just doesn’t have what it takes to be a champion.  Sick or not, if you’re on the floor and if you call yourself The Process, you have to figure out how to play sick.  The Process stops functioning when it comes down with an illness.
