Shohei Ohtani made history on Thursday night in Tampa.  He became the first Japanese born player to hit for the cycle.

Ohtani went 4-for-4 in his cycle bid.  He got the night started with a 3-run home run in the first inning.  He doubled in the third and tripled in the fourth, before adding a single in the seventh to make history.

What a night and what a start to a career for Ohtani.  He’s a one of a kind talent and he continues to prove it was the right call to let him hit.

Ohtani is picking up right where he left off last year at the plate, despite undergoing Tommy John surgery.  He’s hitting .281 with 8 home runs and 26 RBIs.
