An eyewitness to the fatal shooting at the Madden 19 tournament told the Los Angeles Times that the shooter was a competitor who lost. He opened fire killing at least two or three that the witness saw before turning the gun on himself.
The shooting was captured on livestreams from the event.

The shooter was a gamer who was competing in the tournament and lost, according to Steven “Steveyj” Javaruski, one of the competitors.
The shooter “targeted a few people” and shot at least five victims before killing himself, Javaruski told The Times in a direct message on Twitter. The gunman killed two or three people “that I saw,” Javaruski said.
The exact numbers haven’t been officially reported, but there are believed to be as many as 11 people shot with 5 of those being fatal. You can’t take video games this seriously, it’s just not worth it.
