Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier still has hopes of returning to the field. That won’t happen in 2019. Pittsburgh announced on Monday that they are placing Shazier on the PUP list.
The Steelers will continue to pay him $500,000 and he will receive full NFL medical benefits as he continues to recover from a spinal injury he suffered back in December of 2017.
The #Steelers placed LB Ryan Shazier on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List, ending his season, though they’ll still pay him nearly $500K. And we’ll continue to monitor his amazing process on social media.

Shazier has made remarkable progress, going from being unable to walk on his own to recently being able to perform box jumps. If he wants to make a full recovery and play again, we have no doubts that he’ll be able to do so.
Although, as we’ve said before, we hope he learns how to tackle.
