Former Ohio State assistant coach Zach Smith, who lost his job at the school when a domestic violence scandal was uncovered, almost left for a job with Nick Saban and Alabama in 2017. It was head coach Urban Meyer who convinced him to stay with the Buckeyes.
The text message exchanges between Meyer and Smith were uncovered on Friday. It’s certainly an interesting exchange. Meyer had the opportunity to pass off his headache to Nick Saban and instead fought to keep him.
