The Patriots have released receiver Josh Gordon just a few days after placing him on injured reserve with a knee injury.  New England didn’t really provide many details as to why they were releasing him.

Gordon wasn’t released due to the knee injury he suffered nor was he released because of his production on the field.  There aren’t any reports that he relapsed either.

According to Patriots insider Tom E. Curran, Gordon started showing signs of undependability.  He was late to several meetings and coaches had a hard time getting in touch with him on occasion.
