When Tim Tebow gave up on his football career to switch to baseball, he had dreams of eventually making it to the Major Leagues. He signed with the Mets and put in work at the lower levels before becoming a Double-A All-Star last year.
Any hope for a September call up ended last year when when Tebow went down with an injury. He was invited to Spring Training prior to the season and sent to Triple-A when camp broke.
Many were hopeful Tebow would continue to progress to the point of earning a call up this season. So far that hasn’t happened. He has been unable to figure out Triple-A pitching.

Through the first month of the season Tebow is hitting just .137 with 29 strikeouts. In addition to the struggles, he has stopped talking to the media, which he had been doing on a regular basis.
It’s unclear how much longer Tebow will have at the Triple-A level to figure things out. For now, it doesn’t look like the former NFL quarterback is anywhere close to stepping on the field for the Mets.
