Capitals winger Tom Wilson, who is known for dishing out his fair share of dirty hits, punished Avalanche defenseman Ian Cole for a shot to the head of his teammate, Evgeny Kuznetsov.
The hit left Kuznetsov down on his hands and knees on the ice. Wilson more than evened the score by landing several big shots of his own to Cole’s head.
The Caps got the better of this exchange and went on to win the game in overtime, 4-3. The lesson here is don’t put a dirty hit on one of Tom Wilson’s teammates.
