Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill and his fiancee Crystal Espinal will not be charged in the child abuse case involving their son.

The reason no charges are being filed is because they couldn’t determine who should be charged.

Via KMBC News:

The district attorney in Johnson County, Kansas, announced Wednesday that no charges would be filed in the criminal investigation of Kansas City Chiefs star Tyreek Hill and his fiancee, Crystal Espinal.

“We are deeply troubled by this situation and are concerned about the health and welfare of the child in question. We believe that a crime has occurred,” District Attorney Steve Howe said. “However the evidence in this case does not conclusively establish who committed this crime.”

How does this work?  A crime was committed and one of the two is responsible, but neither gets charged because they can’t figure out who to charge?

Since when?

We’re not talking about shoplifting here, a child was abused.  Charge them both.
