US Women’s soccer player Christen Press partnered with Barstool Sports following the Wotld Cup Finals victory. The partnership was met with controversy because some some claim the popular website is misogynistic.
Press addressed the controversy on Friday and claimed that, before doing a video on Barstool’s Instagram account from the victory parade, she wasn’t familiar with the site.
“To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t familiar with the site when my team presented the opportunity to me,” Press said. “I think everybody that knows me well knows that I support kindness, respect and dignity for all people.”

Press looks and sounds like someone who was pressured into making a statement. You wouldn’t think that making a video from the victory parade would end up being controversial.
