Villanova fans start a bonfire after the Wildcats beat Michigan 79-62 in the men’s national championship game, then the police arrive on scene. News helicopter video showed a small fire being set in the street with some students trying to jump over the flames.
Students could be seen climbing trees and grabbing branches to add fuel to the fire. Police later began to move people away from the flames.
There was no reported arrests, and Philly is getting pretty used to celebrating It’s Villanova’s second national championship in three years. They are starting to become college basketball’s # 1 powerhouse. Partying like responsible idiots is the way to go when you’re celebrating.
