After reports that Virginia Tech and Kentucky had to be separated at an event over the weekend prior to the Belk Bowl, the two teams had to be separated multiple times during pregame warmups.

There was a heated exchange between the two teams that led to punches being thrown.  Multiple reports claim that a Virginia Tech player took a swing at Kentucky quarterback Lynn Bowden.
