The NFL was deciding on a punishment for Oakland Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict for his late, dirty hit on Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle.

And they have made their decision.

It’s a historic one.

The NFL announced this morning that Burfict will be suspended for the rest of the 2019 season for his hit during Sunday’s game.

The suspension is without pay.

It’s the longest suspension ever for an in-game hit.
