The 2023 Masters has come to an end and the PGA tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf are now back to their regular schedules. The next major event, the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, is just around the corner. John Rahm, the world number 1 is expected to be the favourite for the mid-May championship after his historic victory at the Augusta National Golf Club. He became the first European to win both the Masters and the U.S. Open titles.

And of course with that comes the many predictions that fans are trying to make about their favourite player. Part of the fans have decided to try out their luck and go on to the betting websites and applications like Sports Interaction App, and see if they can also win something from their guesses. One of the reasons we think that fans are entering the platform would be because of the many betting options that the bookie has. The bookie has live betting as well as cashouts which are amazing features and it is no surprise that fans would choose the SIA betting platform.

With four triumphs already under his belt in 2023, Jon Rahm has his sights set on achieving a career grand slam when the world’s greatest golfers gather in Rochester, New York. Despite having secured only one top-five finish in six prior appearances, Rahm is determined to outdo other favorites such as Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy at what is arguably the most challenging major tournament for him to win.

If Rahm is successful in winning, he will head to The Open later in the summer with a chance to make more history. Here are the current betting favorites for the PGA Championship at Oak Hill:

Jon Rahm: 9-1

Rory McIlroy: 10-1

Scottie Scheffler: 10-1

Justin Thomas: 14-1

Jordan Spieth: 18-1

Brooks Koepka: 19-1

Following his victory at LIV Golf Orlando and his push towards the top at the Masters, Koepka has experienced a noteworthy shift in the markets. The four-time major champion seems to have regained his form of winning majors from 2017-2019 and, together with Thomas, has claimed four of the last six PGA Championships. They are both aiming to prevent Spieth from accomplishing the ultimate leg of his career grand slam.

Despite being a three-time major champion, Spieth has encountered difficulties in vying for the PGA Championship since 2015. However, he did manage to secure a T3 finish in the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black, which is situated in a comparable location. It’s plausible that a revisit to New York could elicit a similar level of play.

The following players have odds shorter than 70-1:

Xander Schauffele: 20-1

Cameron Smith: 20-1

Patrick Cantlay: 22-1

Collin Morikawa: 22-1

Hideki Matsuyama: 25-1

Dustin Johnson: 25-1

Viktor Hovland: 25-1

Cameron Young- 25-1

Tony Finau: 30-1

Matt Fitzpatrick: 30-1

Tom Kim: 35-1

Max Homa: 35-1

Shane Lowry: 35-1

The recent winners of golf majors have been predominantly young, highlighting a youth movement in the sport. In fact, the last seven major winners leading up to the 2023 PGA Championship have all been under 30, with the exception of Phil Mickelson, who won the PGA Championship at 50 two years ago. The current favorite to win the 2023 PGA Championship, Jon Rahm, is also under 30 years old and coming off a Masters win, with odds of 9-1.

McClure’s model has a track record of precision, accurately forecasting Jon Rahm’s triumphs at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express, as well as his second major victory at the 2023 Masters, despite trailing the leader by two strokes at the start of the third round. The model has also accurately anticipated the winner of nine majors thus far.

In the lead-up to the 2023 PGA Championship one unexpected prediction is that Jordan Spieth, one of the top favorites, will struggle and finish just outside the top 10. While Spieth has won 13 PGA Tour events, he has not performed well at the PGA Championship in recent years, with only two top-10 finishes in ten starts. His struggles with putting and birdies made suggest that there may be better betting options in the field.

A striking forecast is that Collin Morikawa, considered a longshot at 22-1 odds, will make a formidable bid for the title. Morikawa, the 2021 PGA Championship winner, has been a persistent contender at almost all majors since then. His driving accuracy and greens in regulation percentage, which are incredibly precise, have aided him in achieving top-10 finishes in five of his last nine tournaments. For those seeking a significant payout, Morikawa might be an appealing pick.
