The Dallas Wings landed UConn guard Azzi Fudd with the No. 1 overall pick in Monday’s WNBA draft.
Fudd enjoyed a decorated five-year career at UConn, guiding the Huskies to the NCAA championship in 2024-25 while earning Most Outstanding Player honors. She was named to the AP All-American first team this season and was a first-team All-Big East selection in each of the last two campaigns.
The 22-year-old is the best off-ball shooting prospect in the draft and an elite three-level scorer, courtesy of a textbook jumper and lightning-quick release. Fudd ranked third in Division I in 3-point percentage (45.5%) this campaign.
Fudd also made a leap at the other end of the court. She’s a high-energy defender who recorded 2.6 steals per game this season.
