Talk about waiting for your moment.
Back in April of 2018, Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish fell down running the bases in embarrassing fashion. Fellow pitcher Justin Verlander responded to the video on Twitter by making a joke about Yu not helping to “dispel the pitchers aren’t athletes thing.”
On Wednesday night, Yu finally got his revenge when Verlander attempted to field a ball and throw it to first from the ground. Verlander’s attempted throw to first base hit his own leg and landed next to him.
That’s when Yu mocked Verlander with the same tweet he was sent back in 2018.
