Zion Williamson was in Minnesota on Friday to receive his Oscar Robertson and Associated Press National Player of the Year awards at US Bank Stadium.  The Duke star will almost certainly be the number one pick of the NBA draft and was asked about the possibility of playing for the Knicks.

“If they draft me, I would love to play for them.”

Of course he would love to play for the Knicks or anyone else who drafts him.  You aren’t going to go to one of the best teams in the league as a high draft pick, so you have to expect to play for a bad team.  What were they expected him to say?  “No, the Knicks are a terrible organization and I would hate to play there.”

Zion might say those things to his friends and family, but he’s not going to tell the media that.
