The XFL had a week filled with firsts:

The league had its first MVP chants in the middle of a game.  Its first televised F-bomb.  Its first ejection.  Its first postgame beer chug.  And now the XFL has its first coach to lose his job.

After his defense gave up 272 yards passing and four touchdowns to Houston Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker in a 37-17 loss, the Los Angeles Wildcats fired defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Pepper Johnson.

The 37 points was the most given up by an XFL team in the opening weekend of play.
