Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia lost $500k when he was ejected from Thursday’s game against the Rays in Tampa Bay.  He earned the ejection when he hit catcher Jesus Sucre with a pitch.

Sucre was hit by the pitch by Sabathia after his catcher Austin Romine was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.

Had Sabathia waited just two more innings to retaliate, he would have earned an innings incentive worth $500k.  Considering the millions C.C.’s already made in his career, he’ll be just fine.

In the final matchup of season for the Rays and Yankees, New York finished Tampa Bay off and won the game 12-1 and the final series three games to one.
