Former Maryland head coach D.J. Durkin will be joining the Falcons during training camp as a guest instructor.  Durkin’s tenure at Maryland came to an end after the death of Jordan McNair following a strenuous workout.

Following McNair’s death an investigation revealed that Durkin had created a culture of physical and mental abuse at the university.  He was later fired.

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn was asked about the decision to have Durkin work as a guest instructor and tried to defend the decision.
