Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has had an amazing first two weeks of the 2018 season.  The run has resulted in a 2-0 start for Tampa Bay and has been referred to as “FitzMagic.”

But when it comes to filing a trademark for the phrase, the 35-year-old was intercepted by Dolphins rookie defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.

According to ESPN, Minkah’s marketing team stepped in front of Ryan’s magic and filed a trademark for “FitzMagic.”

A trademark application for “FitzMagic” was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office last week on behalf of Minkah Fitzpatrick. The intention is to use FitzMagic to sell merchandise and apparel.

Minkah Fitzpatrick’s role in filing the trademark wasn’t significant. It was primarily handled by his marketing team/representatives.

This is officially Minkah Fitzpatrick’s first interception of his career.  If you’re going to steal the “FitzMagic” phrase then you better put together some of your own FitzMagic.  Nine tackles in two games isn’t exactly FitzMagic.
