According to the report in the Journal de Québec, the franchise is owned by former NHL player Pierre Sévigny. Sévigny told the paper he’d hired Brashear to help out.

“He’s an employee, that’s all. We have just started, he is here to help me,” Sévigny told the Journal. “We’ll take it one day at a time.”

Brashear was born in the United States but grew up in Val-Bélair near Quebec City. He played more than 1,000 games for five NHL teams between 1993 and 2009, most notably the Montreal Canadiens. He scored 85 goals over the course of his career, but is remembered best for his talents as a fighter and enforcer.
