With the Lakers getting the 4th pick in the upcoming NBA draft, some figured that would be enough to convince the Pelicans to trade Anthony Davis.
Apparently not.
So, will anyone left in New Orleans stop a trade of Davis to the Lakers?
We have been told, I think, through channels – most of us have heard this same scuttlebutt – that Gayle Benson has basically told him, “To the Lakers, over my dead body.”
On the Pelicans’ Twitter, Benson called the lottery a ‘new beginning’ en route to building a championship team.
She mentioned executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin and head coach Alvin Gentry as key pillars of their goal.
Looks like she’s not going to let AD out so easily, even with Zion coming, who would be able to replace AD in star power.
Over her dead body.
