Rob Gronkowski was asked about retirement following the Patriots Super Bowl loss to the Eagles earlier this month and acknowledged at the time he would be exploring that possibility in the off-season.  Rumors of Gronk joining the WWE or becoming an actor have since followed.

The Boston Herald is reporting that they reached out to Gronk’s agents and they refused to address whether their client was retiring or not.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is still weighing a decision to potentially retire from the NFL, and his agency declined to comment on his situation today at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.

“We’re not going to talk about that. That’s personal,” Drew and Jason Rosenhaus told the Herald.

Gronk said after Super Bowl LII that he would mull his future in the coming weeks. He said the journey to reach that decision would include conversations with his teammates. If there’s a positive involved in this, it’s that his teammates would probably try to talk him into playing in 2018, given Gronk’s significance to the Patriots’ title chances.

There’s still a long way to go before the beginning of next season, but this isn’t a good sign if you’re the Patriots or a fan of the Patriots.  Gronk is a huge part of what they do on offense.

Will the lure of Hollywood or the WWE be enough to get Gronk to retire in his prime?  He definitely wouldn’t be the first to walk away with a ton left in the tank.
