Iowa ended up beating Iowa State 18-17 on a wild day of College Football in the Midwest. There were two weather delays that totaled more than three hours and bizarre plays throughout the game.
No play was more bizarre than the one that ended Iowa State’s chances of mounting a comeback late in the 4th quarter. With a little over a minute left to play in the game Iowa State was about to get the ball back.
They ended up giving it right back to Iowa to let them run out the clock and win the game. An Iowa State player ran into the punt returner as the ball arrived causing a fumble and an easy recovery for Iowa.
