Rumors that Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, a Heisman Trophy frontrunner, won’t be starting Saturday’s game against Baylor started early in the morning.

The rumors seem to be confirmed by backup Austin Kendall’s mom, who sent out a tweet about her son’s first start.

Rumors are that Murray is being punished for showing up late to practice, via ESPN:

Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, who is fourth in the ESPN Heisman Watch, will not start Saturday against Baylor, according to the mother of backup quarterback Austin Kendall.

“Game Day! Austin’s first collegiate start is today against Baylor! @A_Kendall11 #proudnom #ballout??” Kimberly Kendall tweeted Saturday morning.

The violation isn’t a serious one.  So expect to see Murray at some point in the game.
