Padres GM Reportedly Flew Out to Miami and Met with Manny Machado and His Wife

San Diego Padres General Manager A.J. Preller appears determined to land a top free agent this off-season.  That or he’s collecting air miles.

The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Preller flew out to Miami this week to meet with Manny Machado and his wife.  According to sources, Machado is the Padres top choice for third base.  

Preller’s Miami trip comes on the heels of one to Las Vegas to visit with fellow top free agent, Bryce Harper.

As of right now, Machado is believed to be leaning towards signing with the Chicago White Sox, but we wouldn’t rule out an overwhelming offer snatching him away.
