Cam Newton appears to have avoided serious injury after leaving Thursday night’s preseason game with a left foot injury. According to reports the Panthers quarterback has been officially diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain.
Panthers GM Marty Hurney says the Panthers are “cautiously optimistic” that Newton will be able to play Week 1 of the regular season.
