Police told media outlets on Thursday that a man who jumped to his death from the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City was professional volleyball player Eric Zaun.

Via NJ.com:

Police say Eric Zaun, 25, of Cherry Hill, apparently committed suicide Tuesday by jumping from the hotel’s 29th floor.

Zaun was a professional volleyball player.

He moved to California to play volleyball back in 2017, and was named rookie of the year.

Zaun was 25.

Police responded to the scene after reports of a man found dead in the parking lot of the hotel. Detectives later confirmed that he jumped from his 29th floor hotel room.

The Association of Volleyball Professionals later confirmed Zaun’s death on Instagram

“The AVP is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Eric Zaun,” the post reads. “Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. He will be deeply missed.”
