Former College Basketball and NBA coach, Rick Pitino, has a horse racing in the Kentucky derby, but unfortunately he won’t be able to see him in attendance.

Pitino will not attend, according to ESPN. choosing instead to spend that day in protest after being fired by Louisville. Pitino has vowed never to return to the state of Kentucky and said he won’t make an exception for the Oaks.

“Every night I go to bed, I’m bitter at the U.S. attorney’s office and at the ‘board of traitors’ at Louisville,” Pitino said. “I’m not bitter at the school but at the ‘board of traitors.’”

“I’m not going to go to Kentucky for the Oaks, but my partners are,” Pitino said Saturday in the winner’s circle at Gulfstream Park. “But I feel absolutely awesome.”

Earlier this month, Pitino told ESPN’s Jeff Goodman that he wants to coach again, whether in college or the NBA.

“The level doesn’t matter to me,” Pitino said then. “I just need it to be someone who believes in me.”

Rick will land a coaching job somewhere, he’s too big of a name not to utilize if you’re a a smaller mid level school. I would think an NBA Job isn’t in his future, him and his ego are not ready for the NBA, and never have been.
