Sources tell me City Manager Ed Zuercher is hoping the City Council will agree to postpone the vote, rather than potentially suffering a lopsided defeat that could kill future prospects for a deal. Meanwhile, Sarver is telling city officials that he may take the team to Seattle or Las Vegas, one source told me.

Phoenix Mayor Thelda Williams and Councilwomen Laura Pastor and Debra Stark have asked for a postponement of this afternoon’s City Council vote on whether to spend $150 million upgrading the Suns arena. This, because the deal will go down in defeat if it’s put to a vote.Whether they get a continuance or not could mark the beginning of a showdown between the city and Suns owner Robert Sarver, who is telling some council members that he will take the team to Seattle or Las Vegas.

Phoenix is a great basketball town, would hate to see them lose their beloved Suns. Vegas is now a viable market for a professional league, especially now that gambling is going to be legal in all states eventually..
