According to reports, the Nationals have let teams know that Bryce Harper is available.  They’ve reportedly been in talks with the Cleveland Indians, although the talks haven’t progressed.

Via MLB:

The Indians and Nationals have communicated recently regarding a possible Bryce Harper trade, sources told MLB.com on Monday, but the discussions have yet to gather momentum.

Even as the Nationals began play Monday with a six-game deficit in both the National League East and the NL Wild Card race, the price tag on Harper remains high, the sources said.

If the Nationals really want to get something for Harper it sounds like they will have to lower the asking price.  Otherwise they will have Harper on their roster as they continue to circle drain, he will then he will leave in the off-season and they will get nothing for him.

If we’ve learned anything from the Nationals organization it is whatever they decide to do, it will be the wrong move.
