Former Saints kicker Tom Dempsey died late Saturday night of complications from the coronavirus.  He was 73.

Dempsey, who was born without fingers on his right hand or toes on his right foot, held the record for the longest field goal for several decades.  In recent years he had been battling Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

The senior living center in New Orleans where Dempsey had been living has been hit hard by the coronavirus.  There have been more than 50 residents who have been infected and at least 15 deaths.
