Red Sox vice president Tony La Russa said the team had a good visit to the White House last month.  He said that the team supports anything that represents the government.

La Russa’s comments come after several notable members of the Red Sox skipped the visit.

Via TMZ Sports:

Tony La Russa says the Red Sox had a good visit to Donald Trump‘s White House last month … telling TMZ Sports they made the trip to show support for their country.

“The flag, anthem, White House,” La Russa says … “Anything that represents our government, we support.”

Sounds like there’s a bit of a disconnect with the front office and the clubhouse.  Is La Russa unaware of the fact that several players didn’t make the trip or is he just ignoring that fact?

The front office and clubhouse disconnect could explain the team’s struggles up to this point.
