Two former White Sox employees and a ticket broker have been charged by the FBI for running an illegal ticket scheme that cost the team almost $1 million dollars.  Over a three year period, former ticket sellers James Costello and William O’Neill gave ticket broker Bruce Lee complimentary ticket vouchers, which are reserved for official team use and not to be sold.

Lee who would then sell the free tickets on ticket exchanges.  He sold almost 35,000 tickets from 2016 to 2019.  The White Sox eventually caught on when Lee was flagged as a seller due to the high volume of tickets he sold.  In 2018, he sold over 11,000 tickets on StubHub.  The next highest seller only sold a little over 100 tickets.
