Tigers outfielder Nicholas Castellanos took Twins pitcher Ervin Santana deep in the first inning in Minnesota on Thursday.  More impressive than the home run itself was his ridiculous bat flip.

The bat flip doesn’t hold a candle to the umpire catching the bat midair as he stepped out from behind the plate to watch the ball.

I’m not a huge bat flip guy, especially not in the first inning of a meaningless regular season game, but if you’re going to earn a ball to the ear hole this kind of bat flip is the way to go.

The level of difficulty is impressive.  That was, of course, until the entire thing was wiped out by the umpire’s incredible swag.
