Toliver’s job was one of several changes to coach Scott Brooks’ staff announced by the Wizards on Tuesday, two days before they host the Miami Heat to open the season.
Toliver also assisted the Wizards’ coaching staff during the NBA Summer League and training camp. She plays for the Washington Mystics and helped them reach the WNBA Finals this year. She is a 10-year WNBA veteran and two-time All-Star who won an NCAA title at Maryland.
You never know, one day she may just be in charge of an NBA team.
Really cool move. @KristiToliver told me in August that her career goal is to be a coach in the NBA. Asked if that meant head coach or assistant, and she replied that she just wants to be an NBA coach anywhere on the bench https://t.co/ITx7ewIF8g https://t.co/8hhMZQd0Pd
