Most MLB hitters hate swinging at pitches out of the strike zone.  They don’t want to waste a single pitch during an at-bat.

Yankees first baseman Luke Voit took that a step further by fouling a pitch off that went behind his head.

That’s ridiculous.  It just wasn’t Luke’s night on Wednesday night.  He went 1-for-5 as the designated hitter in the Yankees 7-5 win over the Orioles.

When it’s not your night, it’s not your night.  A foul ball on a pitch behind your head means that it’s not your night.
