The first overall draft pick of the 2019 NBA Draft permanently exited after the first half of the New Orleans Pelicans’ Summer League game against the New York Knicks after suffering knee-to-knee contact. He hasn’t seen any court action since.  

The Pelicans announced that Williamson won’t play during the rest of the Summer League in Las Vegas.

Williamson was diagnosed with a bruised left knee.

The early prognosis was that it didn’t appear to be serious and he should be fine once the team begins training camp later this year.
