The Atlantic’s Jemele Hill made a reference to the assassination of Malcolm X during President Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

The former ESPN employee, who found herself at odds with The Worldwide Leader in Sports because of her social media activity, tweeted out that New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should yell out “Getcho hand out of my pocket.”

That is the phrase a man yelled out to distract security so that a Nation of Islam conspirator could shoot and kill Malcolm X.  She has since deleted the tweet, but we all know how the internet works.

Now we usually do our job around here and stick to sports and the gossip that surrounds it, but I don’t think we’re off base by saying this isn’t a great look for Jemele.  Referencing an assassination is a little too far.
